I understand that a rail pass for ten trips can be used to travel anywhere in Belgium (Brussells to Bruges for example). Can this rail pass be used to travel from the airport to Brussels Midi station and back to the airport?

Yes, but there is absolutely no point in doing so!! The SNCB %26quot;railpass%26quot; costs €71 for 10 trips, i.e. €7.10 each irrespective of distance. A single ticket for the trip from Brussels Airport to the city, whether Nord, Central or Midi, costs €2.90!
