breakfast in brussels

Can anyone recommend a breakfast restuarant near the mariott hotel, dont fancy paying €25 each for breakfast

Well if you are homesick and want a cooked breakfast there is O%26#39;Reilly%26#39;s on a nearby corner also opposite the Bourse (stock exchange) : you can hardly miss it! Or, there is a MacDonalds right under the Marriott.

Belgians don%26#39;t eat cooked breakfasts, so if you want a local place it would be a café serving coffee and croissants or %26quot;couques%26quot;, a sort of sweet croissant. The Bourse has an atmospheric Brussels café on either side, the Falstaff on the right (with your hotel behind you) and the Cirio on the left, or of course there are plenty of places in the nearby Grand%26#39; Place, e.g. the Roi d%26#39;Espagne.

Thanks for your quick reply. Will try some of your recommendations. We dont need a cooked breakfast

If I,m not too late, just returned from Brussels and stayed in that area, and loved Pain Quotidien, on Rue Antoine Dansaert, opposite side to the Marriot, through the next traffic lights. They make their own bread and pastries, jams, etc.and serve light cooked meals. Friendly waiting staff. It reminded me a little of Avoca Cafes.
