Probably by train in around 40 mins to Bastogne

I too am having great difficulty locating trains from Brussels to the Ardennes. None of the web sites I usually use to navigate by train in Europe, including my old standby www.BAHN.De show any reasonable train connections either to Barvaux-sur-Outher (near Durbuy) or to Bastogne. I could not find any such connection on the web site the other poster gave you. If you find any and particularly find a web site where these connections can be viewed I would appreciate knowing it. good luck

Unless it%26#39;s a typo, the clue may be in your mispelling of Barvaux-sur-OURTHE! Also, while DB is great when you only want trains, for any small places in Belgium which may not be reachable directly by train you are better off using the B-Rail website, http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/.
On that site, when you fill in the starting and arrival places, on the first page, you will normally get a page which asks you, among other things (under %26quot;products%26quot;), whether you want %26quot;only trains%26quot; or - as is safer if trying to get to small places %26quot;all products%26quot;, which will include local buses.
For Bruxelles-central to Barvaux, you can take the 09:01 train to Eupen, get off at Liège-Guillemins at 10:03 and at 10:22 take the L5560 local train direction Jemelle which arrives in Bervaux at 11:11. (Same journey leaving Bxl at 01 and 47 minutes past every hour.) From %26quot;Barvaux (B)%26quot;, the B meaning (B-Rail) railway station, it is a 14-minute walk to the centre of Barvaux-sur-Ourthe, the route being illustrated on the website if you click on %26quot;walk 14 minutes%26quot;.
You can find one of the following letters behind any placename used in the timetable: B = railway station (B-Rail); BRU = Brussels city transport (tram, bus, metro); DL = De Lijn bus stop (in Flanders also tram, metro); T = TEC bus stop (Wallonian bus service).
