Purchasing thalys tickets

Hello,

I am trying to purchase a couple of train tickets from the Thalys website (Brussels to Paris and return) with no success. Apparently this website (which uses the b-rail booking platform) doesn%26#39;t recognize my card, issued in Chile, as secure. I have made a lot of purchases with the card, so i know that is not the problem. I read something about this in previous threads, but i will like to ask, before i buy anything, if it is possible to buy the tickets from the TGV website and print them at home, with a foreign card? has someone else done that?

thanks,

If you are using a Visa or Mastercard on B-Rail, it will only be accepted if it is %26quot;3-D secure%26quot;, as it would be if issued in Europe. Supposedly you can ask your bank to issue a special code. The reason you have been able to make other payments is quite simply that other websites have not imposed the 3-D system, (http://www.sips-atos.com/En/

SIPS_Solution/3Dsecure.html)

An alternative would be to buy from a U.S. site like www.raileurope.com, which does not use this particular security system. This from the B-rail website:

%26quot;Payment by Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard and American Express

For the payment of your tickets you are automatically transferred to the Ogone server. Your information passes through a most advanced secure system. Simply type the credit card data into the Ogone server: your credit card number (16 digits), its expiry date and, as an additional safety measure, its CVC/CVV number (card validation code/card verification value).

Remarks:

- On-line payments with Visa or Eurocard/Mastercard are only possible for cards issued in the countries certified 3D-Secure by Bank Card Company.

- If you pay using your American Express card, an extra pop-up window will appear in which you will be asked to fill in your invoice address. If the invoice address you enter does not match the data in the American Express database, the payment cannot be executed, in which case the purchase will be cancelled automatically.%26quot;
