4 days in and around Ypres.

Visiting Ypres at the end of October, intend doing the war memorials etc. Are there any beer festivals on between the 29th October and the 1st November? Many thanks.

None at all, I%26#39;m afraid, you are either too early or too late (hop festival in nearby Poperinge is this coming weekend). You could still go to the hop museum, though: www.poperinge.be/UK/data/nat_hop_museum.htm.

Sorry to bring more bad news SD, but you miss the Karakter beer festival at the Palace Hotel by a few days - it%26#39;s on October 25th.

Still, there%26#39;s plenty of good beer cafes to keep you occupied and you can use the Belbus service to get to the ones in the country - guide here:

The Palace Hotel and the Cafe Paix are the two best bets for beer in Poperinge (and the Paix does great food too - wonderful steaks!).

In Ypres your best bets are Ter Posterie and the Klein Rijsel, both on Rijselsestraat.

For a comprehensive list of West Flanders beery spots I%26#39;d recommend The Good Beer Guide to Belgium, if you haven%26#39;t already got it.

If you%26#39;ve got the car Veurne and Diksmuide are worth a visit, as is Cassel across the border in French Flanders.

Many thanks for the info I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll enjoy the beer as usual. Evs.
