Getting from Charleroi to Radisson SAS EU Brussels

I get into Charleroi at 9.30 on Fri night. Looking at the info on the Charleroi airport website the bus %26amp; train leave within 5 minutes of each other.

I then need to get to the Radisson SAS EU Hotel. Their website says

%26quot;The hotel is easily accessible; there are excellent transport connections to the hotel:

Within 2 minutes walking distance from the train station %26#39;Luxembourg%26#39;

Bus stop close by the Radisson SAS EU Hotel with connection in all directions.

3.5 kilometres from Midi train station with Thalys and Eurostar connections%26quot;

I tried putting %26#39;Luxembourg%26quot; into the belguim train planner www.sncb.be but it gave me train connections to actually get to Luxembourg country!

Is the train or bus easiest/cheapest/faster? If anyone could give actual specifics on the route for me, that would be very much appreciated.

You need to put in Bruxelles-Luxembourg (just as, for other Brussels stations, you would put in Bruxelles-Midi, Bruxelles-Central, Bruxelles-Nord...).

I presume you have noticed that the train doesn%26#39;t leave from Charleroi Airport but from Charleroi-Sud railway station, which means you have to get into Charleroi first, on local bus 68 (or 10 minutes by taxi).

There is a train from Charleroi-Sud at 21.57, arr. Ottignies 22:38, dep. 22:47 arr. Bruxelles-Luxembourg 23:05 (stop after Ottignies, train continues to Bruxelles-Midi).

If you miss that one, you can still take a train to Brussels (23:07 - arr. Bruxelles-Midi 00:17) but not stopping at Gare du Luxembourg and there isn%26#39;t a train connection at that time of night.

Personally, I would prefer to take the Ryanair shuttle coach to Gare du Midi (one hour) then walk through the station and catch the 27 bus from its starting point in %26quot;rue couverte%26quot; (signposted from within the station: when you exit the station you will be under a railway bridge, turn left and the stop is right there) to the stop %26quot;Luxembourg%26quot;.

Thankyou so much for your detailed post, it is much appreciated.

One more question - is there bus timetables online so I can check out what time the 27 bus leaves as you mentioned above?

Last one on a weekday is 23.20 (bus will show destination Georges Henri rather than Andromeda but this is fine for you):

stib.be/appl/…1123F.htm

Incidentally it costs €2 if you buy the ticket on board, if you want to save a bit of money you can buy a ticket in advance (€1.70) from the machine on the furthest platform of the tram %26quot;station%26quot; you will see straight ahead of you as you come out of the station.

In case you want to see other lines, it%26#39;s www.stib.be/horaires-dienstregeling.html?l=fr

When you get to Place du Luxembourg, which you may recognise by the juke-box like building of the European Parliament behind the station building, the %26quot;Luxembourg%26quot; stop is outside a café called Fat Boys. Walk straight ahead and turn right, you will see your hotel across the road.
