Bruges at night end of November

A group of us are planning to go to Brugge to celebrate some 40th birthdays, although we realsie that we are no spring chickens, another friend has told me that there is not much going on in the evenings ie not many bars etc? Can someone put my mind at rest that i wont be fast asleep at the hotel by 10pm?!

Err, no: your friend is quite correct - why wouldn%26#39;t you believe him or her anyway? Brugge is a small medieval town with no university, unless you count the postgraduate College of Europe.

Well it%26#39;s not the liveliest of towns, but we%26#39;re certainly not back at the hotel and asleep by 10pm when we go.

There are some decent bars to be found, and they invariably stay open quite late, certainly compared with the UK.

Try the bars around the Eiermarkt, or of course t Brugs Beertje on Kemelstraat. They%26#39;re open from 4pm to 1am (2 am at the weekends), but closed on Wednesdays.

Another good pub is Bierbrasserie Cambrinus on Philipstockstraat. They open until 11pm in the week, and later at the weekends, and stock a mind boggling selection of beers (around 300 I think!).

I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a great time.

Thats great thanks! Can you recooment any reasonable hotels near station/ in the thick of things?

If there is a group of you, you are better renting a property...see www.holiday-rentals.co.uk, thats what I use most of the time..otherwise www.late-rooms.com
