Brugge for the Christmas Markets

Hello

Was thinking about booking a weekend break to Brugge, would like to go to the Christmas markets. We would be flying from Dublin, do you know who we should fly with and to what airport would be best to get a connecting train. what would the weather be like in December?

Would love to get a few recommendations

Thanks

Weather in Brussels in December is probably much like that in Dublin, that is it can be cold and wet but rarely snows.

If at all possible, flying to Brussels Airport saves you the one hour coach trip from Charleroi Airport (designated by Ryanair as %26quot;South Brussels%26quot;). Brussels Airport has its own station and the train takes 20 minutes into the city, stopping at Nord, Central and Midi. If possible it would be best to stay near Gare Centrale e.g. Novotel %26quot;Off Grand%26#39; Place%26quot;. Location is often mentioned in TA members%26#39; comments in %26quot;Brussels hotels%26quot; list (see left).

Brugge is a very good choice for a weekend...

It is cheaper to fly to Charleroi Airport, there is a direct shuttle bus between Bruges trainstation and Charleroi Airport, 2 hours one way, look hier: brugge.be/internet/en/toerisme/praktische_in…

Brussels Airport has a direct train connection with Brugge - 1 hour one way

for train timetable and prices look hier:

have a nice time in Brugge!!!

Forgot to warn you, if you do fly to Charleroi, check the shuttle times (which are on Charleroi Airport%26#39;s website) for your arrival and return: I have seen several questions from people who had booked themselves on flights from Charleroi that were too early (given also that Ryanair closes check-in 40 minutes before departure) for the Brugge shuttle, in which case you have an hour%26#39;s journey by train to Brussels plus an hour by coach to Charleroi, or a similar length of time for train to Charleroi-Sud (also via Brussels) then local bus, or else it may be necessary to go to Charleroi the night before and spend the night at the Ibis Hotel next to the station.
