Sorry - a couple more questions! What is open on New Year%26#39;s Day? are any shops, restaurants etc? Are there any traditional things that people do?
Also, I am staying at The Dominicon - is this close to the Eurostar station or would it need a taxi ride? Many thanks

most restaurants/cafes etc will be open
shops will not be except some around grande place
the dominican is easily reached by tram/premetro to beurse/bourse and a 5 min walk or take a (max) 15 eur taxi. check what the hotel is up to new year%26#39;s eve - they have a lively bar, often with a dj weekly so chances are there is soemthing going on in the hotel. good restaurant too
