House Collapse!

Whilst we were on our way our to the Heysel Stadium on the metro on Saturday evening we were diverted from the metro at Bockstael onto a Metro Bus as there was a problem on the line.

We soon discovered why..........a house was being held up by props and had cracked all the way from top to bottom. Must have been a scary moment for the occupants!

We got back on the Metro at Stuvyenbergh and continued our journey as normal. On the way back we did use the metro all the way through but it went at less than walking pace through the effected area.

Does anyone know what happened to the house? I can%26#39;t find a new reference to it anywhere?

A water leak in a pipe below ground caused the ground to turn to mud and therefore undermine the house: 4 buildings (27 people) had to be evacuated - among other things, the fact that the ground dropped by a foot and a half (half a metre) meant that they couldn%26#39;t open the doors! - but no-one was hurt. With damage that extensive I would guess that the houses would have to be condemned, but at least they will be able to save the contents.
