I%26#39;ve been on a tram in Brussels but I can%26#39;t for the life of me remember if there is an information screen that tells which stop is coming up next??
I will need to catch the 94 Tram from Gare Central to Place Stephanie, does anyone know which route the tram goes in? I have checked the list but Im not sure which stops I will go through to get to Place Stephanie.
Thanks

You can find a lot of information on the site of the public transportation STIB

There are no trams leaving from Central, only subway and busses.

As has been said, you can%26#39;t catch any tram at Gare centrale: the 92, 94 and 97 trams all go to Place Stéphanie but they run along the edge of the Parc de Bruxelles, the easiest way to catch them would be to take either the metro to Parc (from here, you need to cross the junction to the stop on the other side of the street) or bus 71 etc. to Place Royale (stop at the top of the hill; from here, walk around the corner and turn right, tram stop is in front of the museum). You can see the route of the 94 (direction Hermann-Debroux) or other possibilities on here:

If by any chance you are arriving by Eurostar or from the airport it would be better to get off at Gare du Midi, take the metro to Louise and catch one of these trams from there, when it will only be one stop to Stéphanie.
Most trams do not have an information screen that tells you which stop is coming up next. Some of the newest ones (and I am not sure which ones are used on your route) do have this possibility but the driver doesn%26#39;t always switch it on (when it IS on, it switches between the end destination and the next stop). It%26#39;s not difficult to recognise Louise because it%26#39;s a big junction and you should see the name somewhere: if you start there, you will know it%26#39;s only one stop, if you start at Parc or Place Royale, Louise is the stop after you see the Palais de Justice, so Stéphanie is the stop after that.

Thanks for all your information.
I%26#39;m actually arriving by train from Amsterdam (Schipol) into Brussels.
That%26#39;s given me a little more information and I think in may be easier to jump on a metro

If I catch the mtro from Gare Central to Louise am I right in thinking that I have to change at Art Loi?
We want to see Grande Place before we head off to Louise or is there a direct bus route?

Coming from Gare centrale on metro line 1, you would have to change either at Arts-Loi, onto metro line 2 (direction Delacroix) or (better if you actually want to get to Place Stéphanie) at PARC, onto tram 92 or 94 (you have to leave the metro station as these trams run overground; and cross the road, for the stop in the direction of the Palais de Justice).
I don%26#39;t know of any buses that pass by Louise since they made a whole heap of changes to public transport this year and last. However the Grand%26#39; Place is very close to Bourse (stock exchange) from which you could catch a 95 bus going to %26quot;Place Wiener%26quot;. This intercepts the same 92 and 94 trams at %26quot;Petit Sablon%26quot; (from this bus stop, which is next to a big church - Notre Dame du Sablon - turn left, away from the Palais de Justice, and the tram stop is next to the church) or the next stop, %26quot;Royale%26quot; (opposite the Musée de l%26#39;Art Ancien, tram stop is across the road, right outside the museum, as tram goes in opposite direction to bus).
|||
P.S. It also occurs to me that if you take bus 95 but miss either the Petit Sablon or Royale stops, you can still change onto metro line 2 at Trône!

Thank you Gaminari, you are a great help!
Appreciated!
