Apart from %26quot;cheap%26quot; I don%26#39;t see any criteria that would allow anyone to recommend anything (and what is %26quot;chech%26quot; - the Czech Republic, i.e. Prague?). Do you like museums/concerts/shopping/drinking a lot...? Do you want a city break or to see some countryside (if mountains, Belgium would not be a good destination), or beach resorts (maybe not if you live in one); do you want to travel by air, and from which airport, or would you be driving, and do you want to stay put in one place or travel around?

I would suggest you go down to a travel agent since I also can%26#39;t know what cheap packages might be on sale for departure from your part of the world, and also if you look at a few brochures you might get a better idea of what you want.

To get you started, you can fly to Carcassonne in France with Ryanair from Liverpool; or to Perpignan from Manchester with Bmibaby, and to Prague from Manchester also with Bmibaby and (also to Paris and Nice) SkyEurope. So you could also google the airlines%26#39; websites and check prices for your dates of travel, then when you have an idea of which destinations would fall within your budget, look on Tripadvisor under the city concerned and then on the left you will find %26quot;Things to do%26quot; there, as rated by TA members.

thanks for the reply. im very open minded re where at moment. i do enjoy museums, sight seeing, beaches, even though i live at the seaside. not bothered about mountains though. yes to flying. no i am not driving anywhere. it is just to get away somewhere different.
