Midges etc.

Is there a problem with midges etc during mid to late August please?

They absolutely love me and I would need to be prepared with sprays etc.

Thanks

They love me too - no matter where I am or whatever products I use. Yes, there can be a problem in Bruges with small biting things, the amount of water around the city, while making it look lovely, is an ideal breeding ground for midges.

I would suggest you bring insect repellants and post bite treatments, as no matter how good the repellant something always seems to get through.

Definitely!

We got eaten a couple of years ago when we were there at the end of July.

It was very hot, and as our hotel had no air conditioning, we had slept with thn.e windows open.

Mind you, we%26#39;re going again next week, and this time we%26#39;re camping!

Will definitely be taking precautions this time.

Thanks for the info. Better to be prepared.

For the record, you don%26#39;t necessarily need to bring stuff with you (if it is as %26quot;cool%26quot; as it is right now, you won%26#39;t need it) as you can get it here. A good local brand of mosquito etc. repellant which comes in spray, gel etc. forms is Moustimug, which you can find in pharmacies.

Thanks for the info but I will rely on the spray I bought in Oz last year. I did not get one problem ,even in the rainforest.
