Basilica of the Holy Blood

Hi

I%26#39;m visiting Bruge later this year with a friend who would really like to visit the Basilica and see the Holy Blood relic.

I%26#39;ve read different information about when the relic is displayed, ranging from daily to once a week. Could anyone help?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, the holy blood itself is on display on Fridays and every day during the month of May, or at least most of the month of May, that is to say a number of days before Ascension Day when it goes walkabout around Brugge (Procession of the Holy Blood). But there are also reliquaries made to hold the relic which are on display every day, in the Basilica museum, maybe this is where the different information comes from.

Thanks for your help, gaminari.

The relic is available for veneration for only a few minutes each day. The time is posted on the basilica door. It seems they take it out promptly at the posted time, and it stays out only long enough for everyone in line to view it, and then put away until the next day.
