Train Times and Prices

Hi- I

was wondering if someone could tell me how much it costs and how long it takes to take a train from Knokke to Amsterdam roundtrip? We are looking at buying a Beglium 10 trip pass then just buying an Amsterdam train travel individually. Would this have to be booked in advance? Thanks

Hello,

You could take a look at the English pages of the Belgian rail website: http://www.b-rail.be/int/E/

Here you can enter the station where you leave and the one where you want to go to.

I have been looking at that website but it won%26#39;t give me information on this journey - it says its unavaliable. I have tried early time frames and nothing appears then either. I am I doing something wrong??

I%26#39;ve checked the website, and your are right: there is no direct train between Knokke and Amsterdam.

You%26#39;ll have to take the train from Knokke to Antwerp (Antwerpen-Berchem) and change in Antwerp for Amsterdam.

I can only imagine you forgot to select %26quot;international%26quot; rather than %26quot;national%26quot; as I got Knokke-Amsterdam connection straightaway, of course via Antwerp.

Cost varies according to when you would be travelling and when returning, and on which type of train for the part between Amsterdam and Antwerp: InterCity or Thalys. For example:

IC Superdagretour (= super day return) €28.90 x 2 = €57.80, if you can get this rate both ways.

IC Ordinary return €44.40 x 2 = €88.80

Thalys Librys ABS (= Any Belgian Station) €55.50 (1 way)

There%26#39;s also a Benelux/weekend return, and depending on times you select you may be going IC one way and Thalys the other, it is far too complicated to list all fare options!

You would only have to book in advance if you select THA (Thalys) options, on Intercity not only do you not have to but you can%26#39;t reserve a seat anyway, so you would just buy the ticket at the station.
