train or car from Lux City/car rental?

I am slowly putting the plans together for a trip to Luxembourg City/American Ardennes Cemetery south of Liege,BE/Mosel River Valley in Germany - and have changed the itinerary several times. Now my husband thinks that driving might be more stressful than taking trains. My question today is this: Do you know if it is practical to take a train in the morning from Luxembourg City to Liege, BE; then rent a car for a few hours to drive down to the American Ardennes Cemetery in Neupre to tour it for about 3 hours; then drive back to the station in Liege and take a train around 7 pm back to Luxembourg? Can a car be rented at the Liege station (the one that takes trains from Lux City)? We are in our 60s, and want to make our travel relaxing and not too stressful. I believe my husband is worried about driving through Luxembourg into BE and finding the cemetery. Friends have talked about how FAST the cars drive in Europe. Can you offer your advice or reassurance about driving renting a car and driving from Luxembourg to this cemetery in Neupre, BE, or can you tell me if you think it is practical to take a train from Lux to Liege, rent a car there, and return by train to Lux the same day? Thank you so much for any advice you can give. MBLC

If you are in Luxembourg, it will be much easier to rent a car there and drive through the Ardennes to Liège. The highways are quite good in Belgium. The distances are short as it is a small country. Luxembourg Neupre is approx 160 km mostly by highway.

It will be much quicker than taking the train to Liège and afterwards rent a car in Liège.

Enjoy your stay in Belgium

Wud advise you have a look at this site. You can change language to English of course. It allows you to plan your trip
