Bruges to Champagne

Hi,

We need to go from Bruges to Champagne (for 3 days) and back to Bruges. What is the best mode of transport and how much time will this take. Thanks for your help

The only possibility unless you hire a car would be by train, and you don%26#39;t say where you want to go to in Champagne, but for Reims, for instance, it would take 3 1/2 to 4 hours via Brussels and Paris (1 hour between Brugge and Bruxelles-Midi then Thalys 1h22 to Paris-Nord then TGV from Paris-Est to Reims, and the last 2 require booking so you would have to buy tickets at the latest from the station in Brugge the day before you want to travel).

Gare du Nord and Gare de l%26#39;Est are next door to each other in Paris, you can walk from one to the other. There are no direct trains although you can also go via Paris-CDG rather than Paris-Nord, depending on timing (also TGV).

If you wanted to go to Epernay the journey is similar except that there are RE (Regional Express) trains as well as TGV from Paris-Est.

I would suggest you put your destination and dates into here http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en and play around a bit. However if you want to purchase tickets in advance, since you are starting in Belgium it would have to be on http://www.b-rail.be/int/E/.
