I am torn between these two on day 2 of my 3 day trip. I have heard there is a lot of doggy poo in Liege and it is more industrialised. Brussels is more cosmopolitan and cleaner but hear that that market isn%26#39;t brilliant. Any ideas?

liege is not a great place to visit generally and brussels has more to offer - the christmas markets in brussels are widespread

There%26#39;s a lot of doggy-poo in Brussels too. But the decorations in the Grand%26#39; Place can be good (well, not last year) and the hourly son-et-lumière is fun. I don%26#39;t rate the Winter Market - it is not particularly Christmassy - at all but we still don%26#39;t know which country/region is the %26quot;guest%26quot; this year, which can make a big difference. If you want something really Christmassy you may have to go to Germany.
