hi friends,
my wife and I are booked till the 3 rd morning of may in Amsterdam. we have a flight from charleroi on 3 may , check in 8am by Ryan air to madrid. we have a eurail pass.
I have tried all possible sites to find out ways n means to reach charleroi in time by leaving late night/early morning from amsterdam . However i have not found any success so far.
Can you guide me on how to reach Charleroi in time. one option is to reach brussels the night before. but both of us were looking forward to seeing the popular night life of amsterdam and then leave amsterdam late night.
any suggestions please ... Thank you

If you wanted to spend the night in Amsterdam, why on earth did you book yourselves a flight with an 8 a.m. check-in, at an airport 263 km away?! The train from Amsterdam to Brussels takes nearly 3 hours and it%26#39;s about 50 minutes from there by train to Charleroi-Sud railway station (still not at the airport, which is in Gosselies) or by Ryanair bus right to Charleroi Airport. Furthermore, since you have a Eurail pass you can%26#39;t take Thalys trains without paying a supplement.
Unless you can get someone to drive you, it is absolutely not possible to get from Amsterdam to Charleroi/Gosselies the same morning. By train, you would have to leave Amsterdam by 22.37 at the latest, arriving at Maastricht at 1.10, then leave Maastricht at 5.58, changing trains in Liège (to Thalys, incidentally), and even this would only get you to Charleroi-Sud by 7.53, so you would have to take a taxi from there to the airport to make it by 08.00.
In fact, for an 8 a.m. check-in at Charleroi Airport I would strongly advise you to stay the night before, not in Brussels, but in Charleroi, e.g. at the Ibis Charleroi Centre Gare, next to Charleroi-Sud railway station, from where you can catch a bus to the airport. You%26#39;ll have to reconstitute the following into one line as Tripadvisor can%26#39;t cope with long URLs:

vishwasjamkar you obviously did not like the advice you got on the Amsterdam forum, before you posted here, telling you exactly the same as quaminari has just told you. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
Perhaps you though we did not know what we were talking about!!
I hope you are not suitably informed!! Otherwise try the Paris forum for a third opinion. Maybe they will tell you that you can and you will believe them!!

hi guys, following the topic instead of creating a new one.. :D
ive been searching, and i found out that thalys train we need to book in advance.. is that correct?
anyway i have to be on chareloir airport at 14:00(flight at 16:30), so i am thinking of leaving amsterdam at 9:00.. i think theres enough time.. to go without worries at missing the flight. I notice various ways to get there.. trough brussels central, brussels zuid.. etc..
Which way do u guys recommend so i can buy the ticket train without booking and so... buying at the time im leaving.

ive found this way.. sounds good.. through intercity train, cheap and no need to book.
Is it the best and esay way?
08:56 Amsterdam Centraal 13a Schiphol Intercity (NS Hispeed) +
09:34 Den Haag HS
09:53 Rotterdam Centraal
10:08 Dordrecht
10:32 Roosendaal
11:01 Antwerpen-Centraal
11:18 Mechelen
11:36 Brussel-Noord
11:41 Brussel-Centraal
11:45 Brussel-Zuid/Midi
then theres ryanair bus, as far as i know.. how much is it? and how long it takes? and does is it run many times?

Your question is not the same as the original, since that person wanted to arrive at Charleroi Airport from Amsterdam at 8 a.m.!
Of course the train you have found is fine, i.e. IC dep. Amsterdam Centraal 08:56, arr. Bruxelles-Midi 11:45, but there is also the 09:56, arr. 12:45, 10:56 arr. 13:45 and possibly even 11:56 arr. 14:45, since the 15:15 bus should get you to the airport for 16:15.
The %26quot;Ryanair%26quot; bus leaves from the back of Gare du Midi in rue de France, near the Air France office. From the platform you arrive on, look for the Eurostar terminal (platform 1), walk past it and turn left, go out of the glass doors at the end of that corridor and you should find the coach waiting on the other side of the road. It costs €13 (you can buy it on the bus) and takes 45-60 minutes - timetable is on the Charleroi Airport website, see http://www.charleroi-airport.com/doc.php?nd=1101%26amp;amp;tid=101%26amp;amp;site=1%26amp;amp;lg=2.
You could also continue by train from Bruxelles-Midi to Charleroi-Sud railway station and then take a local bus (68) to the airport, but it doesn%26#39;t save you any time.

ok im convinced with thats the best way to me..

Hi NunoPunkas
How much was the IC train from Amsterdam to Brussels and do you just buy it on the day?
