Formula1 Spa

We are going to spa Grand Prix 5.-7.9.2008. Could anyone give some advice how to get to the circuit? We are staying in Brussels. I have understood that we have to take a train from Brussels to Verviers and from there should be free transportation by bus to the circuit. Do we have to book the train tickets in advance and is that true that the free transportation is from Verviers or do we have to change the train and go to Spa?

No idea about free bus, it could well be put on by the organisers during the GP, so you could check their website (is there nothing on the tickets?). However, if by any chance you can%26#39;t find it, there is a local TEC bus from Verviers to Francorchamps, the 395. So I would get off the train at Verviers rather than Spa.

As for the train to Verviers, not only do you not have to book but you can%26#39;t unless you are a group of (I believe) 15+! You can buy your ticket from the station the day before if you want to save time on the day, and it will only be for a specific date (which you must give them) and destination, not a specific train.

An ordinary return ticket from Bruxelles-central to Verviers costs €31.60 on a weekday, about half that at weekends, but you can also buy a ticket called %26quot;A Day in the Ardennes%26quot; (for return the same day) on any day of the week, for €16.60. If no free bus it should not cost more than a few euros anyway.

Thank You for very helpful answer. I was worried that we are stuck in Brussels while the race. Thanks again.

If you bought the weekend pass, then you could also receive free train tickets (you had to request them of course!)

Send an email or call to

and ask about the SNCB promotion for transport from Brussels to the track. Nothing to waste by asking.

If no luck with the free train train tickets, just go to the website reccomended (www.SNCB.be) above, and type Brussels Central (or whereever you are stating) and then Verviers as your final destination. During the race days, there will be shuttle service from “ VERVIERS ” back and forth to Francorchamps.

If you want to know more go here:

http://www.spa-francorchamps.be

It has all you need to know, maps, schedules, etc.

Hope this helps.
