How do i get from....

which ever train station (Midi or Central?)on Eurostar from London, to my Hotel which is the Courtyard Marriott. Is it easier just to get a taxi? how much should i expect to pay, should i fix the fare with the driver before setting off or chance it and run the risk of get ripped off? (its happened to me before in Brussels!). How long does it take to get to the airport when arriving at the station at around 1630hrs.

Thanks

1) Eurostar terminates at Midi, and while your ticket covers you to Central, Nord, Schuman and Luxembourg, none of these are anywhere near the Courtyard Marriott which is near NATO on the road going out of Brussels to the airport. The nearest station is Bordet, but this is on a line you can%26#39;t take from Midi: http://www.planitram.be/EN/sncb/ENsncb26.html

2) It is always easier by taxi and in any case your only alternative is metro/bus 27 to TrĂ´ne and 21 bus from there, to the stop %26quot;Permeke%26quot; - www.stib.be/appl/FR/40000Fre/B/40021F.htm

3) Maybe €20-30, at a guess.

4) I have never seen it done (don%26#39;t see how this would stop you being %26quot;ripped off%26quot; anyway) but you can always try. I presume you know that Airport-Brussels and Brussels-Airport price is different, for perfectly legitimate reasons (to do with Region taxi belongs to)?

5) Which station? I thought you wanted to go from Midi to the Courtyard Marriott. From the hotel to the airport it would take less than 10 minutes and cost maybe €20 (I suggest you ask the hotel, since I have not done this journey). From Gare du Midi to Brussels Airport I would count on €40 and 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

thanks, this is very useful...Taxi it is! i am coming in by train, and was hoping to meet with a colleague at the airport who is flying in. I think its better that we meet up at the Hotel. Thks again, thats given me some idea about journey times and costs from Midi.

change of plan!! - my Co have booked me into the wrong Marriott, so now I%26#39;m in the City center Marriott, been there before, except this time i need to get to a Meeting near the NATO buildings nr the Airport (Diegem). So how long do you reckon i need to allow for the morning traffic? which i guess is mostly coming the opposite way? i was thinking 30mins - or do i need more time?

It depends on how you are going: if by taxi, then I would also think 30 minutes. I would not bet on traffic going in the opposite direction, though, until you get beyond Meiser.
