Hello,
I have a TGV/Thalys ticket from Airfrance to go from Paris to Brussels.
I have heard that when I get a Paris-Brussels Thalys I can make a free travel until my final destination in Belgium, that is Liege (ABS or TGB extension).
I%26#39;ve seen that this ABS extension can be included in my ticket when I buy it, but that was done by my travel agency through Air France and it is a normal ticket.
Is it still possible to make this arrangement at Brussels station and get a a free (or at least with a discount rate) train until Liege???
If not, do you recommend that I buy the Brussels-Liege ticket in advance? Do the trains usually get full (it will be a sunday during lunch hour)? The problem about buying it now is that I%26#39;ve read at the B-rail site that the ticket is unchangeable and I%26#39;m afraid that my previous flights to Paris can be delayed.
I really appreciate your attention.

Unlike Eurostar tickets which now include ABS automatically, Thalys tickets do not, this option has to be selected at the time of purchase. Naturally enough, Air France did not include it since your Air France ticket is to Brussels, not Liège (I don%26#39;t think they would sell a ticket to Liège, i.e. any other destination but Brussels anyway, but at any rate, they haven%26#39;t). Bruxelles-Midi station has an airport code, ZYR, because Air France no longer runs flights from Brussels Airport (BRU).
You will therefore have to buy a normal Belgian Railways ticket for Brussels-Liège (€12.90). It makes no difference whether or not you buy it in advance as regards getting a seat, as you cannot reserve seats on domestic trains. If there are no unoccupied seats, you stand. However, I cannot believe a weekend train to Liège would be anywhere near full.
Although tickets purchased online are nominative, non-refundable and non-exchangeable, you need not worry because your ticket will be valid for any train on the date you buy it for and for something like a month (if not 2) from that date: it does not specify the train (departure) you must take, because unlike Thalys it doesn%26#39;t include seat reservation (since you can%26#39;t reserve).
