Travel Times...

I am attending a conference at Le Chatelain in Brussels and wondered how long it would take in a taxi to get from the hotel to the airport. It doesn%26#39;t seem too far in distance, but at 5pm at night, how long do you think it would take? Also, any ideas on the price of a taxi for this?

TIA

Normally it would take about 30 minutes, of course you might get a bit blocked around Avenue Louise and on the Ring during the evening rush hour, or not, it%26#39;s impossible to say.

I would expect it to cost about €45 from the Châtelain area. If that%26#39;s too much, just take a taxi to one of the stations as the train doesn%26#39;t get blocked by traffic (Central is probably closest: airport train starts at Midi and goes via Central and Nord, the airport is the next stop). Taxi shouldn%26#39;t cost more than €5-10 depending on traffic, and take about 10 minutes. Train takes 20 minutes (a couple less from Nord, a couple more from Midi) and costs €2.90, you can get your ticket from a machine to avoid queues or even buy it the day before - from any station, it doesn%26#39;t have to be the one you are going to leave from.
