Travelling from Amsterdam to Brugge

We are landing in Amsterdam on the morning September 13th. What is the quickest way to get Brugge from the Amsterdam airport? We are real dummies, but so far it looks like it is an all day trip with a long wait in the middle of day in Brussels.

Trains run once an hour from Amsterdam Centraal to Brugge.

All require a change at Antwerpen Centraal or Antwerpen Berchem. Ask the ticket taker which station you%26#39;ll need to change at for Brugge.

The journey takes a bit under 3 1/2 hours.

Thank you for your answer. One more question. How do you hook up with the train from the airport in Amsterdam? And should I make reservations for the train in advance? If so, how do I do that, i.e. what web site do I go to? I have been to the eurorail web site and I see you can book a dutch train to antwerp, and a belgium train to brugge. Is there a easier way and do I need reservations? Thanks!

The airport is between Amsterdam Centraal and Brugge. And while I%26#39;m not 100% certain, I%26#39;m guessing that the trains between Amsterdam and Brugge (via Antwerp) stop at the airport%26#39;s rail station.

There is a rail station at the airport. You can buy your tickets there for your trip to Brugge. Look for the %26quot;International%26quot; ticket window. I%26#39;ve never met a ticket seller in The Netherlands who didn%26#39;t speak English, so you shouldn%26#39;t have any problem buying a ticket. Given the large number of trains that go each day, I wouldn%26#39;t bother with trying for a reservation. I%26#39;ve made the Amsterdam-Brussels trip a dozen times and the trains have never been crowded. I%26#39;ve made the Antwerp-Brugge trip once and there were plenty of seats.

I made this exact trip this July and its easy, as mentioned above. Just tell the ticket agent where you want to go. Language will not be a problem. If it takes over 3.5 hrs, you are going the wrong way!!

One additional item is to make sure you buy 2nd class tickets as it is cheaper and there is very little difference between that and first class, in my opinion.

Thank you both for your replys. These have been helpful.

I do not know at what time precisely you will be ready to hop on the train, but I searched for your trains between 9 and 11AM on Sept 13.

» The 8:56 train is different, as it involves 2 changes: 8:56 Dp Amsterdam Schiphol platform 14a [ Thalys train, supplement - not worth it, since in this section, it travels at normal speed, and not high speed ] / 10:55 Ar Antwerpen-B. / 11:10 Dp Ant.-B. / 11:55 Ar Gent St Peters / Dp Gent St Peters 12:26 / Ar Bruges 12:26
