We have a 8:10AM flight from Brussels airport on a Tuesday morning in August. We are staying at the Hilton hotel on Boulevard de Waterloo. What is our best advice in getting to the airport on time, taxi, train, etc.?

To get to the airport by not long after 06:00 (assuming it%26#39;s not a transatlantic flight for which I believe the current recommendation is 3 hours before flight time), the easiest way would obviously be by taxi, which will cost about €40 all the way to the airport. Alternatively, you could take one to the Gare du Midi/Centrale/du Nord for less than €10 and then it%26#39;s €2.90 for the train ticket to the airport. Metro line 2 from Louise doesn%26#39;t start till 05:42 which doesn%26#39;t give you time to get to Midi in time to catch, say, the 05:48 train getting you to the airport at 06:08; the next is 06:00 getting you there at 06:24.
Anyway, trains start at 04:48 on weekdays (from Midi - a few minutes later from central and a few minutes later than that from Nord), and take about 24 minutes to the airport.

Thanks. Yes we are flying to Geneva. I would like to take my chances and take the train. Maybe we can get on the 5:48 or arrive on the layter train. Do I really need to arrive two hours before my flight?

i never have an hour to an hour and a half should be ok at that time in the morning

FYI
Was recently in Brussels and do not be surprised by delays in take-off.
Aside from runways sometimes not being open there are strikes going on and off at the airport.
Very disruptive annoying delays of up to 90 minutes.
If you have baggage to check, getting there early may not be a bad idea, even for flights within Europe.
