Hello All,
Will be visiting Brussels for the first time in December. Going to another country but stopping in Brussels for 2 days for sightseeing.
Can someone please recommend a nice hotel in the historical part of the city?
Also, I would prefer a hotel that provides a free shuttle to/from the airport because we are 4 people with 8 bags + 1 infant so do not want to public transportation to reach the hotel.
If that is not possible, how much are the taxi rides from the airport to the hotel?
Thank you very much in advance :-)

These are the hotels that have an airport shuttle and not one of them is in the centre: www.brusselsairport.be/en/services/hotels/
The Courtyard Marriott is about halfway in and on a bus route, but not quite to the centre, you would have to change at Schuman for the metro.
If you can afford it, and are leaving from Brussels Airport after your 2 days in Brussels, the simplest option would be to stay at the airport Sheraton and travel into Brussels by train for sightseeing, which would cost €2.90 per adult (at weekends, return ticket available for €3.60).
A taxi to any central hotel (near the Grand%26#39; Place and Gare centrale) should cost about €35 but unless there is a larger taxi in the queue, you may need 2 taxis for your amount of luggage and persons.
Another not-too-difficult option by public transport would be to take the train from below the airport and stay at the Méridien just across the road from Gare centrale. By %26quot;historical part of the city%26quot; I presume you mean the Grand%26#39; Place area, if you look in %26quot;Brussels hotels%26quot; on the left you will find VT members%26#39; comments including with regard to location.

I don%26#39;t know much about hotel-provided transportation in Brussels, or the cost of taxis, since my hubby and I traveled the country by train. But - we stayed at the Aris Grand Place in early August (so - four weeks ago), and found the location to be great. It%26#39;s literally a block from Grand Place and next to the Galeries St. Hubert - which was really handy because it rained a lot while we were there.
The hotel had been recently renovated and was quiet and had very professional staff. The price was reasonable, although the rooms were fairly small (but not ridiculously so, as we often found in our travels through Belgium!). Breakfast is not included - they charge 8 euros per person. We went to a nearby street cafe and enjoyed the outdoor ambience and good food for less than that. Also, the elevator was roomy - which you%26#39;d think is not a big deal, but it is also a rare thing! :) Price wise, I think we paid 69 euros, which was a good price for such a great location. See guest reviews on booking.com.
Hope this is helpful!

Thanks to both of you.
Are there any hotels in city center area that provide shuttle to the airport? If it%26#39;s not free, that%26#39;s ok...as long as the rates are reasonable.
Thank you again.

*sigh* I refer to my first answer. Those are the ONLY hotels that have a shuttle to and from the airport. NONE OF THEM ARE IN THE CENTRE. No hotel in the centre has an airport shuttle.

Thank you gaminari
